Through the last couple decades, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has proven that he is able to rise to the top of whatever area of the entertainment world he infiltrates. Johnson frequently posts to social media on the importance of getting into the gym and maintaining healthy fitness habits by challenging the physique. He announced recently a major fitness and wellness event that he will be hosting called Athleticon, which he is presenting with Seven Bucks Productions founder Dany Garcia.
The event is meant to be like no other fitness summit in the health and wellness industry. The Rock has stated,
“Imagine if all our fitness, wellness & motivation goals had a beautiful baby with the most inspiring and insanely entertaining event. Welcome to #ATHLETICON!”
Garcia posted a similar sentiment, adding that the event is open to anyone. There isn’t a lot known about what the event will be comprised of yet, but it will start on Friday, October 9th, and it will go on for three days. Plus, it will be hosted in Johnson’s home state – Georgia.
The mega-Hollywood movie star also went on to add:
“We've always been committed to fitness and health — it's what sustains us mentally and physically,” […] “Creating Athleticon is a natural extension of everything we do for our global audience who are connected to the people and brands that inspire them. Whether you're at the peak of your fitness game or fighting for every gain, I can't wait to see your transformative journey at Athleticon.”
His partner in crime also stated:
“We are going to help to bring the best of this world to [people] so that you want to come in. It's so we can empower people. At the end of the day, we're really just trying to make people happier and healthier.”
The public is already getting excited about the event, even though there are still nine months to go. While the news was enough to get the fitness world pumped up, Johnson decided to release another announcement – his upcoming launch of an energy drink.
The first mention of Johnson’s upcoming energy drink can be found on his social media profile on Twitter, where he remarks that he’s “been working” on this product, due to be launched this year. There’s been many new competitors to arise through the last few years in this space, even some brands that are native to the supplement worlds, and there’s no doubt that this space will continue to see more of the same.
While it may be hard to wrap your head around the fact that The Rock is releasing his own DJ Energy Drinks in 2020, it does suit the famous celebrity well in regards to his around-the-clock amped up lifestyle he endures. The post, which was published on Facebook on December 30th, also shows the new beverage from Voss Water with the Jumanji logo. Much like the upcoming fitness event, there is still very limited information about what consumers can expect with the drinks. However, considering Johnson’s attention to the importance of health and fitness, it is safe to say that consumers will likely get nutritional value that can safely give them their energy boost that they need.
In 2016, Johnson spoke with MTV about his daily workout and diet, detailing the methods that keep him in such good shape. Amongst the information his breakfast and why he uses low-impact cardio, Johnson stated that his day starts with a fruity “energy drink powders that I like to mix up,” adding that he prefers these types of drinks over coffee. Will his own line incorporate the flavors he already has in his routine? Only time will tell, but this long-term use indicates that Johnson has been interested in energy drinks for quite some time. It will be interesting to see how The Rocks' DJ Energy Drinks stack up to the new Coke Energy drink by Coca-Cola coming out in 2020 too.
This mystery is hardly the only product that is coming from Johnson this year. Through the last year, Johnson has been publicly working on the launch of Teremana Tequila, due in March. Based on the information available in the market, it is expected to be hand-crafted for a great taste and high quality.
Initially, for the launch of the tequila, the markets will include Mexico, Canada, and the United States. The tequila is being made in a small town in Jalisco, Mexico for an authentic taste. While many celebrity-created drinks and spirits tend to be high priced, Johnson has consistently called this tequila the “Tequila of the People” and aims to price it at $29.99 for the 750 ml Blanco, while the 750 ml Reposado will be listed for $32.99. Johnson has highly publicized the tequila line recently on Instagram as he begins the promotional tour, and his fans can follow along on this journey.
He did wish everyone a happy healthy new year while showcasing and cheersing a toast to his fellow followers with a glass of Teremana tequila.
Until there’s more information about the energy drink from The Rock, Dwayne Johnson's promotions for the new energy drink line will probably not come out until after the launch of the tequila.
